Say Hello to Holly

This lovely little girl is Holly, a cream English Golden Retriever puppy born to Hazel and Diamond on August 12, 2026. Holly is spending the beginning of her story right here at Bluebird Meadow Puppies in Middlebury, Indiana, growing alongside her brothers and sisters and receiving plenty of attention from our family.

Puppies change incredibly quickly at this age. One week is filled with sleepy puppy piles, and before long, little paws are carrying them off to investigate everything within reach. Holly is beginning to experience more of the world around her as her senses develop and her curiosity grows.

Her personality is still unfolding, and we're happy to let Holly show us who she is in her own time. In the weeks ahead, we'll get to see more of the little habits, preferences, and characteristics that make her different from the rest of the litter.

A Classic Golden With a Beautiful Cream Coat

Holly's soft cream coat gives her the beautiful light appearance often associated with English-type Golden Retrievers. As she grows, her puppy features will gradually mature into the recognizable expression and build of an adult Golden.

The Golden Retriever has an interesting history that began with the need for an intelligent sporting dog capable of retrieving while working closely with people. Generations of selective breeding helped establish the cooperative and trainable qualities for which the breed became known.

Today, Golden Retrievers can be found enjoying life as family companions as well as participating in therapy work, service roles, dog sports, and other activities.

While understanding breed characteristics is helpful, we also know that every English Golden Retriever puppy is an individual. Holly will have her own personality, preferences, and way of interacting with the world, and we're looking forward to getting to know her better.

Holly's Early Experiences

There is much more happening during these first weeks than simply getting bigger.

Holly is being raised in a family environment at Bluebird Meadow Puppies, where she can gradually become familiar with everyday human interaction and the sights, sounds, and routines happening around her.

As Holly reaches the appropriate stages of development, we begin incorporating early socialization and age-appropriate experiences. New textures, sounds, handling, surroundings, and interactions can all become opportunities for a young puppy to safely discover something new.

And she doesn't have to figure everything out alone. Holly's littermates are right there beside her for the journey. They provide companionship, warmth, and, as everyone becomes more mobile, plenty of opportunities for puppy play.

Meet Holly's Parents: Hazel & Diamond

Holly is part of Hazel and Diamond's English Golden Retriever litter, and the health and genetic background of her parents is something we believe families should be able to learn about.

Both Hazel and Diamond are AKC registered and have been genetically tested clear on the Golden Retriever panel. Health testing within Holly's parentage also includes OFA heart and patella evaluations.

Holly's family background also includes Junior Champion recognition through UKU.

At Bluebird Meadow Puppies, health information, genetic testing, and thoughtful parent selection are all important considerations when planning our litters. Families are welcome to review the testing information available for Holly's parents above.

From Middlebury, Indiana to Her New Family

When Holly's time with us comes to an end, we'll do our best to help make the transition from our home to hers feel a little more familiar.

Holly will leave Bluebird Meadow Puppies with several items to help her family get started:

• A starter bag of Royal Canin puppy food

• A collar and leash

• A toy

• Her goodie bag

She will also be microchipped through Global Pet Security with lifetime microchip registration, providing Holly with permanent identification that can remain with her throughout her life.

Ready for Home October 7

Holly will be ready to begin life with her new family on October 7, 2026. Until then, she has plenty to keep her busy here at Bluebird Meadow.

There are littermates to play with, new experiences waiting to be discovered, lots of growing to do, and a whole personality that is only beginning to make its appearance.

We're excited to spend these next few weeks getting to know Holly and watching this beautiful cream English Golden Retriever puppy grow from a tiny member of Hazel and Diamond's litter into a little girl ready for her next adventure. 🤍🐾
